[i]So BMW did an about-face, and produced a M version of the X5/X6 while neglecting the possibility of a vibrant M7. Adding insult to injury, the latest rumor emerging from M GmbH suggests their newest project is, not the magnificent M7, but the… wait for it… wait for it… X3 soft roader SAV! Yay…
Despite our lack of excitement, the newest SUV M variants are in fact a success, and BMW is keen to ride the wave as far as it will go. Previous reports put the twin-turbo straight six powerplant from the yet to be revealed 1-Series M Coupe into the X3 M. It is speculated to produce 350 PS (257 kW / 345 bhp).
