La noticia es de marzo de 2011, por lo que se esperaba que fuese presentado en el pasado Salón de Frankfurt.

Maserati Quattroporte replacement headed for Frankfurt unveiling – report

Maserati is about to embark on a major product expansion as a new report is indicating the brand will launch three new models in the coming years.

First up, the Quattroporte successor – code-named the M156 – could be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Essentially a GranTurismo sedan, the model will be powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine which means we can expect outputs ranging from 405 PS (298 kW / 399 hp) to 440 PS (324 kW / 434 hp). More interestingly, Inside Line is reporting the model will move up market but previous reports have indicated the car would move down market to compete more directly with the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, and Mercedes S-Class.

In 2013, the company will introduce a crossover based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. Information is scarce, but the model will feature unique styling and a bespoke interior. Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionnne has previously confirmed the crossover will feature Ferrari-sourced engines, but no word on specifics.

Lastly, in 2015, Maserati will launch an entry-level sedan which is code-named the M157. Expected to be priced at approximately €55,000 ($78,000), the ‘baby Quattroporte’ will feature a V8 engine and battle the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5-Series, and Audi A6. If that doesn’t suit your tastes, a high performance model is rumored to cost €66,000 ($96,000) and will compete with the Mercedes E63 AMG, BMW M5, and Audi S6 / RS6.
